Ever since news of a fourth installment of Toy Story was confirmed, fans of the Pixar classic have been wondering where the story will go now that Andy is in college and the toys have a new home. Now we know that the next film will be a different take on the secret life of toys and detail the love story of Woody and his main squeeze Bo Peep.
Pixar co-founder John Lasseter revealed the plot details to CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street today at Disney’s D23 Expo, a convention where Disney fans can come get a peek at what’s ahead for the company and get behind-the-scenes looks at their favorite projects.
“It’s a love story with Woody and—and this is news—Bo Peep,” said Lasseter.
Toy Story 4 was announced back in 2014 and at the time actress Rashida Jones and her producing partner Will McCormack were reportedly co-writing the script.
Tom Hanks will undoubtedly return to provide the voice for Woody, but whether or not Annie Potts will return as Bo Peep remains to be seen.
