‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Trailer Has Been Released

The first teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has been released. The trailer aired on TV during Sunday’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead and revealed Javier Bardem’s villain, Captain Salazar, hunting for Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp).

He can be heard saying, “Death will come straight for him.”

However, there was no sign of Johnny’s Captain Jack, except for a brief glimpse of him on a wanted poster.

The official Disney synopsis of the movie reads: “Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea… including him.

“Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.”

The fifth movie in the long-running franchise also stars Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites. Orlando is reprising his role as Will Turner in the movie, having bowed out of the series for 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. However, his love interest Elizabeth Swann, played by Keira Knightley, will not return.

Asked about coming back to the franchise, Keira previously said: “No, I don’t think so. It was an amazing point in my life, but it was a good five-year chunk. It was incredible, but I can’t really imagine going back to it.”

The film is co-directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will be released on May 26, 2017.
