Geek Travel: A 24-Hour Sightseeing Trip in London

Geek Travel: London

On our recent trip to London was truly geek-out worthy! When first planning the trip, we got a bit overwhelmed with all there was to do and see – how would we get around? Should we uber everywhere? Would that actually be cost effective?

We utilized The London Pass for the short amount of time we had to explore the city (roughly 24 hours in the city + a day tour to Bath and Stonehenge). I was in town to host panels for Walker Stalker Con, but as soon as we wrapped – we wanted to see as much of London as we could.

The London Pass is designed to cut costs and save time. Entry feeds to over 70 locations are already covered in the price of the pass (which adds up quickly with some attractions being more than £20 to enter). The passes also provide you with the ability to skip to the front of the queue so you don’t have to spend your trip standing in lines.

The ability to use the Hop on Hop off Bus Tour is also extremely helpful to explore as much as you want without having to pay to get from location to location.

So how did we use the London Pass? We visited the Churchill War Rooms (which is hands-down the best designed museum we’ve ever visited), Westminster Abbey, and also did the Thames River Boat Cruise – and utilized the Hop on Hop off Bus Tour to get around between locations and also stop by the London Eye (which was a separate attraction that we visited) and indulge our inner geeks at The Lego Store!
