Netflix’s ‘Altered Carbon’ Season 2 Is Back in February 2020!

Altered Carbon Season 2

Netflix has been quiet about Altered Carbon Season 2, but they have finally released a premiere date! You’ll be able to stream Altered Carbon Season 2 on February 27! This will give you just the right amount of time to re-binge Season 1 – no judgement (we loved this series!).

So What is Altered Carbon?

If you didn’t stream Season 1, here’s what you need to know. Altered Carbon is a dystopian, science fiction series where human consciences can be transferred to different bodies, ultimately living forever. The idea of the series comes from a series of books of the same title, by Richard K. Morgan. Main character, Takeshi Kovacs, played by Joel Kinnaman in Season one, dies a solder and is transferred to a new body. Kovacs is now an investigator and must solve a murder of a well-known citizen who is now in a new body. The citizen wants to know know who exactly killed him and why. We can’t give too much information on Season 1 without giving too much away, so go watch!

What Will Season 2 Bring?

In Season 2, Takeshi Kovacs’ character will be played by The Hurt Locker’s Anthony Mackie. Takeshi’s consciousness is getting a transfer to a new body, or sleeve as they call it, years in the future.

Although a trailer has yet to release, we are expecting one soon as the release date is creeping up (maybe during the Super Bowl?! Probably not but we can still cross our fingers). We do know a little bit of information in regards to the story line, though. Reportedly, Season 2 will follow Kovacs as he sets out on his journey to find his one true love, Quellcrist Falconer. Of course, he will also still be investigating murders, too.

Though Joel Kinnaman isn’t returning for the second season, we do know of a few others making a reappearance. Renée Elise Goldsberry will return as Quellcrist and Chris Conner will be returning as the AI of Edgar Allen Poe. Simone Missick, Lela Loren, Dina Shihabi, Torben Liebrecht, James Saito will be joining the cast in Season 2. All we can say until then is, “your sleeving is now complete”.
