Netflix Postpones Launch of Bill Cosby’s Comedy Special

Bill Cosby’s Netflix comedy special has been postponed amid an ongoing sex scandal.

Bill Cosby 77 was slated to air on November 28, but the company’s bosses have pulled the show after three women accused the comedian of sexual assault dating back to the late 1960s.

A statement from a representative at Netflix reads: “At this time we are postponing the launch of the new stand-up comedy special Bill Cosby 77.”

A proposed comedy series starring Cosby, which was due to air on NBC, has also been canceled.

Cosby is facing accusations he drugged and raped three women, including model Janice Dickinson, who alleges he sexually assaulted her in 1982 while she slept after a dinner meeting with the funnyman.

Last week, actress Barbara Bowman penned an editorial in the Washington Post, accusing the star of raping her 30 years ago and publicist Joan Tarshis claims Cosby sexually assaulted her twice while she was working as one of his writers in 1969.

The 77-year-old’s lawyer, John P. Schmitt, has denied the allegations stating he would not comment on “decade-old, discredited” claims, but, following Dickinson’s remarks on Entertainment Tonight, Cosby’s attorney, Marty Singer, called her claims “a complete lie”.

Cosby has faced multiple accusations of sexual assault in the past and settled a lawsuit in 2006. He has never been charged.
