Tonight’s ‘Walking Dead’ Mid-Season Finale Will Be “Heartbreaking”

The mid-season finale of The Walking Dead airs tonight on AMC, and fans can’t help but wonder – what will the cliffhanger be? Will one of our beloved cast members perish in attempts to save Beth and Carol?

Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd commented on the episode (entitled “Coda”) revealing that it will be one wild ride for fans. She even suggested having tissues handy.

“I would say it is heartbreaking. It is, I think, completely unexpected and a fantastic way to end the midseason,” Hurd recently told E Online. “Kickass, but totally heartbreaking. Kickass being one word. I guess that’s four words, sorry!”

Hurd also mentioned that the goal for The Walking Dead when it returns in 2015 (February 8 to be exact) will be to continue the theme they’ve already set up with this season. A more in-depth look at each of the characters, and where they find themselves emotionally. Nothing too spoilery there, but then again – anyone attached to the series is pretty good at being as vague as possible when it comes to teases.
