‘The Strain’ Returns to FX This Summer

The Strain may not have a season two premiere date yet, but that’s not stopping the horror series from getting the jump on creeping us all out.

The new teasers hint that when we return, it could be to an all out vampire apocalypse. Both videos are simple enough, a boy and girl facing the camera, slowly being zoomed in on. The closer we get, however, the more apparent it is that these two are not what they seem and that the world is possibly even less safe than it was when we last left it.

Check out the teasers for the upcoming second season of The Strain below:

The Strain – He Is You

The Strain – Can You Trust Her?

Last season, we had the chance to talk to Kevin Durand about what it was like bringing the true essence of the vampire back to pop culture. When asked about whether or not he feels a great sense of pride in bringing scary, non-sexy vampires back thanks to the mythology of the show the actor replied, “Absolutely. I mean, obviously, I can’t take credit for that at all. It lays in the wonderful, crazy, beautiful, dark mind of Guillermo del Toro. Because he’s been having dreams about these vampires and making sketches and taking notes since he was a child, and that’s how these vampires came to fruition. They’ve been a part of his nightmares for decades. So what’s really satisfying is to see Guillermo, who is such a lovely, charismatic visionary, actually get those nightmares out of his head and onto the screen. And I’m so grateful to be a part of it and help him tell the story.”

The Strain returns to FX this summer.
