Netflix Announces ‘Stranger Things’ Premiere Date

Netflix has announced the Stranger Things premiere date! The Atlanta-filmed series will premiere eight, one-hour long episodes on Friday, July 15, 2016!

The new drama series is written and directed by the Duffer Brothers, Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (Wayward PinesHidden), and they will serve as executive producers along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen and their company 21 Laps (The Spectacular Now, Night At The Museum, Real Steel, Date Night).

Stranger Things tells the story of a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family, and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces, and one very strange little girl.

The series, set in Indiana (though filmed in Atlanta, Georgia), is a love letter to the ‘80s classics that captivated a generation. Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder (Show Me a Hero), David Harbour (Suicide Squad), Finn Wolfhard (The 100, AftermathThe Resurrection), Millie Brown (BBC’s Intruders,Once Upon A TimeNCIS), Gaten Matarazzo (The Blacklist), Caleb McLaughlin (The Lion King on Broadway), Noah Schnapp (Bridge of SpiesThe Peanuts Movie), Natalia Dyer (After DarknessHannah Montana: The Movie), Charlie Heaton (Shut InUrban and the Shed Crew), and Matthew Modine (WeedsProof).

We have a set visit coming up with Stranger Things, and we’ll keep you posted as more details on the series surfaces!
