Austin Butler’s ‘City on Fire’ Enters Pre-Production

Austin Butler is getting ready to start filming his latest movie, City on Fire. The crime drama entered pre-production this week.

The film has yet to sign a director to the flick, but David Heyman and Shane Salerno will serve as producers alongside Butler. In fact, City on Fire will be Butler’s first production credit.

The Storyline of City on Fire

The movie, which is based on a book by Don Winslow, focuses on the two criminal empires that, together, control all of New England. And one day, a stunning woman comes between the Irish and the Italians, resulting in a war that sees them destroy their alliance, kill each other, and set a city on fire.

The film’s main character, Danny Ryan (played by Austin Butler), wants more for his life. However, as the raging conflict continues to turn brother against brother, only furthering the body count, Danny must rise above himself. If he’s going to save the friends as well as the family he has sworn to protect, he must become a leader. Whoever wins, will forge a dynasty.

Austin Butler’s Upcoming Projects

After filming Elvis back in 2020, Austin Butler has completed filming on Apple TV+’s action-thriller Masters of the Air, which also stars Barry Keoghan. The miniseries is based on a book by Donald L. Miller and is expected to release later this year.

He’ll also appear as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in Dune: Part Two, which releases on November 3, 2023. Additionally, he is also in post-production on 20th Century Studios’ The Bikeriders. The crime drama also stars Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon, and Norman Reedus.

Austin Butler is the only cast that has currently signed on for the project. However, with the film entering pre-production, additional cast and crew announcements will be made soon.
