Warner Bros. Buys Rights to David Goyer’s First Novel
According to a report, ‘The Dark Knight’ writer David Goyer has signed a “seven-figure pre-emptive bid” with Warner Bros. to adapt ‘Heaven’s Shadow’, the first book in his sci-fi series. He is writing the books with Michael Cassutt (The Outer Limits).
“The trilogy begins when an object is discovered heading for Earth,” says the report. “Initial panic gives way to a competition between governments to be first to intercept what they believe is a breakaway meteor. What the astronauts discover leads to an encounter with alien forces that are a threat to humanity.”
“It’s a perfect project for Warner Bros and I’ve obviously enjoyed a long and fruitful working relationship with the studio,” said Goyer.
The first book is due for a July 2011 release.
