New Clips For FX’s ‘Anger Management’ With Charlie Sheen

FX’s Anger Management starring Charlie Sheen kicks off on June 28th, and promos for the new series have just started hitting the web.

The series stars Sheen as “Charlie,” a non-traditional therapist specializing in anger management. Selma Blair, Shawnee Smith, Daniela Bobadilla, Michael Arden, and Noureen DeWulf co-star. He has a successful private practice, holding sessions with his group of primary patients each week, as well as performing pro bono counseling for an inmate group at a state prison.

Prior to his career as a therapist, Charlie was a stalled minor league baseball prospect whose road to the majors was sidetracked by his own struggle with anger issues. After a stint in anger management therapy, he made it to the majors and had one terrific season before his anger issues put him on the shelf for good. In the final game of his career, he tried to snap a bat over his leg, which resulted in a career-ending injury. That injury led him back to school and to his current profession. Charlie thrives on the chaos in his life while still battling his own anger issues. His life is complicated by his relationships with his own therapist/best friend, an ex-wife whose positive outlook but poor choice in men frustrates Charlie, and their 13-year-old daughter who has obsessive-compulsive disorder.

We’ve got the two newest promos for you guys below!

FX has ordered 10 episodes of Anger Management, and we can’t help but wonder what Sheen is getting paid to star in the series after the whole madness with Two and Half Men. We speculate that it’s probably less as the actor is trying to clean up his image and detach himself from the crazy persona train wreck that we couldn’t help but watch last year. In any case, we wish Sheen the best of luck at “winning” with the new series!

  1. “we can’t help but wonder what Sheen is getting paid to star in the series… We speculate that it’s probably less… ”

That’s exactly what I was thinking/wondering. He was making a mint with each episode of “Two and a Half Men”. I’d be surprised if this FOX gig is even paying him for the whole 10 episodes what he was making for ONE episode of his old show. Winning? NOT!

  2. CBS is the #1 network in terms of success, so what they can afford to do is not the same as what FX can afford to do. That being said, Sheen doesn’t really need money after the mint he did make on “Men”. But I’m in the same boat with you – I’d love to know what he was making on this series. There’s no way it’s even competitive with what he was making on “Men”.

  3. Ah, don’t you just love how Hollywood coddles people like Sheen? He’s making lots of money for ‘playing himself,’ once again. I won’t be watching…
