Halle Berry is expanding her presence on the small screen as the executive producer of a new medical drama.
The Academy Awards-winning actress made her TV series debut with Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi drama Extant this summer, and now she’s continuing her relationship with bosses at CBS with a new, as-yet-untitled hospital-themed show.
Berry has teamed up with former House executive producer Katie Jacobs for the program, which follows a surgeon who locks himself in a state-of-the-art private hospital located on prison grounds.
There are no further details of the plot or any casting news at this time.
The project comes from Berry’s 606 Films, the production company she launched this past March. The production company also has a feature film, Kidnap, coming down the pipeline. The thriller stars Berry and was recently picked up for distribution by Relativity.
Berry’s current project Extant is nearing the end of its run. The show premiered on CBS July 7 and is set to end September 17.
