‘Game of Thrones’ Named Most Pirated Television Show for Third Year


Game of Thrones has been named the most pirated TV show of 2014.

Episodes of the highly-popular fantasy series, based on the books by George R. R. Martin, have been illegally downloaded an estimated 8.1 million times over the last 12 months, according to

Game of Thrones also topped the list in 2012 and 2013.

The Walking Dead was another top download this year, coming in at number two with 4.8 million hits, while The Big Bang Theory takes the third spot with 3.9 million.

Rounding out the top five are How I Met Your Mother and Gotham.

8. Vikings-2,700,000 downloads
9. Suits-2,500,000 downloads
10. South Park-2,400,000 downloads
