Meet Mainstream’s Michael Dolce: Comic Book Writer, Graphic Novelist and Podcaster
Meet Michael Dolce; comic book writer, graphic novelist and podcaster in New York City. His smash hit show “Secrets of the Sire” radio show and podcast broadcasts live on Facebook on Wednesdays at 8pm EST and streams on iTunes, Soundcloud, TalkRadio and many more. His credits include creating the critically acclaimed indie superhero book The Sire for After Shock Comics, Descendant for Image Comics, The Undone through Kickstarter and various freelance credits for Image Comics, Wizard Magazine and Zenescope Entertainment. He currently writes for AMNY and now has launched his new creator-owned graphic novel ‘The Mainstream’ for Zenescope Entertainment.
What’s the Mainstream? “It’s about an Interdimensional police force that polices alternate realities” states Dolce. The comic is created by Dolce, Talent Caldwell, Tony Moy and Darren Sanchez and comes in a five issue mini series. Launched at C2E2, ‘The Mainstream’ has hit the stands and has started garnering some positive feedback from sources like Weird Science Comics stating that “The art and story definitely scratch an itch with it’s X-Files and Sliders vibe” and Comic Pros and Cons called it “A Sci-Fi thriller grounded in reality and that delivers one of the best first issues from any genre.”
I sat down with Michael to learn more about his background, podcast and what it takes to get a comic book published. I could write more but why would I when Michael can tell you about it himself? Take it away Michael!
