Rupert Grint: I Haven’t Quite Adjusted To Life Without ‘Harry Potter’

When we think of Rupert Grint, we instantly link the name to our favorite red-hair Weasley in the Harry Potter saga, Ronald. Admittedly, the actor himself is finding it hard to break away from the lovable character and into new projects.

In a new British movie the actor stars in opening this week, it’s all about guns and gangsters, and the actor admits that it took quite a while to get in the feel of such a different role.

“There’s a lot of car chases and shooting people and stuff,” Grint says. “The gun play was quite scary and kind of intimidating, especially firing a machine gun. It really took me a while to get used to it.”

When asked how he feels about the recent wrap-up on production for the ending movies to the Harry Potter saga, the actors says this: “We had like a big wrap party when we finished…I haven’t quite adjusted to life without Harry Potter. I’m really sad actually, I’ve missed it. But after 10 years, I do kind of want to stretch a bit more and explore different characters and do different things.”

You can catch Rupert in his first big post-Potter flick opening soon entitled Wild Target, which features him starring alongside Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Emily Blunt.

Well Grint, I think it is safe to say that your sadness is shared by Potter fans everywhere, which persuades me to ask a question Fanbolters: how do you feel about the saga coming to an end in the near future? Will you be checking out the actors in all their first post-Potter flicks?
